For top IITs (Bombay, Delhi, Madras) CSE, you typically need 250+ marks (top 500 rank). For mid-tier IITs and branches, 150–200 marks (rank 2,000–6,000) is generally sufficient.
About 2.5 lakh candidates qualify to appear for JEE Advanced (top 2.5 lakh from JEE Main). Of these, approximately 1.8 lakh actually appear, and around 17,000+ seats are available across 23 IITs.
The qualifying cutoff is typically 10–15% aggregate marks for General category. For 2025, it was around 75–80 marks out of 360 for General.
