JEE Main Qualification
- Must be among the top 2,50,000 candidates in JEE Main 2027
- Category-wise reservation applies in the top 2,50,000
- PwD candidates have separate reservation
- JEE Main 2027 results will determine eligibility
Academic Qualification
- Passed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics
- Candidates appearing in 10+2 in 2027 are also eligible
- Any recognized board (CBSE, ICSE, State Boards, etc.)
- 75% aggregate in 10+2 for General/EWS/OBC (NCL)
- 65% aggregate in 10+2 for SC/ST/PwD
- Top 20 percentile in board exam also qualifies
Age Limit
- No age limit for JEE Advanced
- Candidates of any age can apply
- Age limit was removed from 2024 onwards
- 5-year relaxation for SC/ST/PwD (when applicable)
Number of Attempts
- 2 attempts maximum
- Attempts must be in consecutive years
- Candidates from 2026 and 2027 batches are eligible
- First attempt: In the year of passing 10+2 or the next year
- Second attempt: Only in the immediate next year
Nationality & Other Criteria
- Indian citizens are eligible
- Foreign nationals (Overseas Citizens of India) can also apply
- PwD candidates get 5% relaxation in cutoffs
- Kashmiri migrants have special reservation
- NRI candidates can also apply for NRI seats
